I was very involved in the original drafting of the Child Citizenship Act, which resulted in getting citizenship for our born adopted children of American citizens. I am excited to share with you about this issue. It's a great concern to me that we ensure all our foreign adopted children are documented as citizens within the United States. Anyway, when we learned about this fee increase, which is currently $550 for getting a certificate of citizenship, we realized many adopted children don't necessarily need to apply for it because many of them already have it. However, for those who haven't received it, the fee is increasing to $1,170 on December 23rd.
